MNCH2 supported the re-activation of Jigawa State-Led Accountability Mechanism (SLAM) – Jigawa MNCH Accountability Forum (JiMAF), a platform established to track the government budgeting and implementation process with a view to entrenching accountability in governance. JiMAF comprises of representatives from civil society organisations, media, development partners and the public-sector. The platform has made great efforts in monitoring, reviewing and acting on the issues related to MNCH services to advocate for improvement and better maternal health services. MNCH2 supported JIMAF to conduct follow-up advocacy visits to ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) on MNCH, advocating to reconcile issues related to the State Contributory Health Policy. JiMAF has analysed health sector budget performance and provided feedback and is working on tracking and monitoring of free MNCH drugs to the Jigawa Medicare Supply Organisation (JIMSO).
