In Northern Nigeria, husbands play a critical role in women’s access to Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (RMNCH) services. Seen as their custodians, without the support of their husbands, women will struggle to access money for transportation, drugs, medication and services themselves. Funded by the UK government, MNCH2 is using the ‘Male Support Groups’ model to change behaviour and perceptions and encourage men to play an active role in the health of their wives and children.
