Through MNCH2, LGA FHC Alliances were established across the state on the 8th of November 2015 to strengthen accountability in the delivery of reproductive, newborn and child health services (RMNCH) at the LGA level. The LGA FHC Alliances brings together Facility Health Committees (FHCs) in one LGA to jointly discuss progress as well as challenges in the delivery of RMNCH services. The alliances have provided opportunities for learning among FHCs through sharing of experiences and this has helped strengthened under-performing FHCs to do better. Through LGA FHC Alliances, FHCs have developed and implemented joint advocacy and resource mobilisation plans to support their respective health facilities to address critical challenges affecting RMNCH service delivery. Through the LGA FHC Alliances, LGA health authorities have responded to and handled a number of challenges affecting health facilities such as infrastructure decay, inadequate human resources as well as commodity supply.
